4 steps to prevent your social media account from being hacked

Recently, there have been frequent instances of social media account hacking targeting various entities, including Facebook, Line, Twitter, and Instagram. Particularly, Facebook hacking can happen to any user at any time. Therefore, it is essential to be prepared and ensure the security of your own accounts.

  1. Use Strong and Unique Passwords: Create complex passwords that include a mix of letters, numbers, and special characters. Avoid using the same password across multiple accounts.
  2. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Add an extra layer of security by requiring a second form of verification, such as a code sent to your phone, in addition to your password.
  3. Be Cautious of Phishing Scams: Be wary of suspicious links or messages that ask for personal information. Verify the source before clicking on any links or providing sensitive information.
  4. Regularly Update Security Settings: Keep your security settings up to date on your social media accounts. This includes updating passwords regularly and reviewing account activity for any unauthorized access.
