How to check Hard Drive Health with HD Tune

HD Tune is a hard disk, SSD and storage utility software that can be used to test the performance of a storage device,
such as a hard drive or SSD (including M.2 NVMe.) It can also be used to monitor the health of the device,
and to perform various other tasks such as benchmarking, error scanning, and file recovery (Pro Version only).
It is available as a paid Pro version and a free version.

To use HD Tune Pro, you will first need to download the software from the developer’s website. https://www.hdtune.com/
Once you have installed HD Tune Pro, you can open the program and select the storage device you want to test from the drop-down menu.


Step 1:
Launch the software and select the storage device you want to test from the drop-down.   


Step 2: Click on the “Benchmark” button to begin the test.
This will test the read performance of the device and Press “Stop” to display the results in a graph.



Step 3: Click on the “Health” tab to check the health status of the device.
This will show you the current temperature, power-on hours, and other information about the device.



Step 4: Click on the “Error Scan” tab to scan the device for errors.
This can be useful if you suspect that there may be bad sectors on the device.
