How to Remove Webcam Background in OBS

Step1: Download OBS Background Removal Plugin From GitHub
(https://github.com/locaal-ai/obs-backgroundremoval/releases/tag/v0.3.0-beta)
Make sure to download appropriate version based on your operating system.
             

 

Step2: Open plugin zip file and Copy above selected files.

Step3: Paste to OBS Studio.

Step4: Add Camera Filter in OBS Studio.

 

Step5: Add ‘Audio/Video’ Filter. Select Background Removal.
You may need to restart OBS studio if it was open at the time of copying plugin files.

 

Step6: Tweak Parameters. Change background color from Black to Green.

 

Step7: Experiment with Segmentation Model.

 

Step8: Add background Media Source. (Image / Video)

 

Step9: Create a new media source. Then using locally downloaded file.
(If you are using video as a background, you may check ‘loop’ if it’s a short video.)

 

Step10: Background has been changed.

 

Step11: Reorder media source. Reposition & resize camera video as needed.

 

Step12: Right click on camera and select filters.

 

Step13: From ‘Effect Filters’, navigate to ‘+’ symbol then select ‘Chroma Key’

 

Step14: Tweak settings if needed. Defaults work fine in most of the cases

 

Step15: Background replaced without Green Screen.
