How to backup data using Backup and Restore (Windows 7)

1. Open Backup and Restore:

 

• Click on the Start button and go to the Control Panel.
• Under System and Security, click on Backup and Restore.

 

2. Start the backup process:

• Click on Set up backup.

• Wait for the system to scan and detect available drives.

3. Choose the backup destination:

• Select the drive where you want to store the backup files, then click Next.

 

4. Choose what to back up:

• Select either Let Windows choose (recommended) to back up data and system settings or Let me choose to select specific files and folders.
• If you choose Let me choose, select the files and folders you want to back up, then click Next.

 

5. Confirm your backup settings and start the backup:

• Review your backup settings, then click Save settings and run backup to begin the backup process.

 

6. Check the backup status:

• Once the backup process is complete, you can check the status and details of the backup in the Backup and Restore window.
