This  is to show you different methods on how to adjust the screen brightness of your laptop, running Windows 8, Windows 8.1.

This guide does not apply to desktop PCs.

Option 1: The Charms bar

From the Desktop press “Windows + C” and click Settings or simply press “Windows + I”

Next click the “Brightness” icon.

This may also be the “screen” icon.

Use the slider to adjust the brightness.

Option 2: Power options

Left click on the “Power Options” icon

Located in the right hand side in the Taskbar (To the left of the clock)

Then select “Adjust screen brightness”

You can then adjust the screen brightness using the slider at the bottom of the window.
