How to Repair System Files in Windows 11

1. Run SFC and DISM

• Press Windows + S or type ‘cmd’ or ‘Command Prompt’ in the search box. Right-click on ‘Command Prompt’ and select ‘Run as Administrator.’

 

• Type these two commands (one at a time).
  • Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  • sfc /scannow

 

2. Microsoft Support Diagnostic Tool (MSDT) helps troubleshoot and diagnose various issues on Windows.

• Press Windows + S or type ‘cmd’ or ‘Command Prompt’ in the search box.
• Right-click on ‘Command Prompt’ and select ‘Run as Administrator.’
• Run the command msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic to open the Device Diagnostic Troubleshooter.
• Choose Advanced and Apply repairs automatically

 

• The system will check for issues. If any are found, follow the recommendations provided by Windows.

 

3. Check for updates.

• Right-click on the Start button > Settings
• Select Windows Update from the left-hand menu
• Click on Check for Updates
