How to fix a notebook not detecting Bluetooth

1. Ensure Bluetooth is Enabled

Check if Bluetooth is turned on for both your laptop and the device. Devices might turn off Bluetooth automatically to save battery. If Bluetooth is off, enable it and try connecting again.

2. Verify Bluetooth in Device Manager

Open Device Manager and look for Bluetooth.

  • If Bluetooth is missing, you may need to reinstall it.
  • If Bluetooth is present, restart your computer to refresh its functionality.

3. Check Airplane mode

4. Check Bluetooth Driver

  • Open Device Manager.
  • Locate and expand Bluetooth.
  • Right-click on Bluetooth and select “Update driver”.
  • Choose “Search automatically for updated driver software”.
  • If updated, turn Bluetooth off and on, then reconnect.
  • If not updated, manually update the driver and then reconnect.
